We compare the petrol and diesel Ford Focus. Compare two of Britain’s best loved used cars.

It came as no surprise that the New Ford Focus Zetec petrol would turn out to be a little more economical than its diesel counterpart.

We compressed a number of motoring factors into the equation before coming to this conclusion. First of all was the cost of the car. The petrol model came out at over £3000 less than the diesel.

Tally in the miles per gallon you can expect from a diesel versus a petrol ford. Sure the diesel is 11 mpg better off than the petrol but the cost of fuel is currently 4 pence per liter against petrol.

Unless you are driving in the region of 15,000 miles per year, you’re certainly better off with the new ford petrol.

If you are planning on buying a used car we highly recommend our described model, about one year old for the maximum savings. Oh and did we mention fuel type? Ahh yes, the petrol model please.

Large alloy wheels, metallic paint and mechanically sound. You should have yourself a car that will last for years to come.
